Data Automation Analyst Intern

December 2024 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

- The onboarding and training process was thoroughly informative and well structured. - The communication between HR, my supervisor, and team members had well-established channels and was actively responsive. - The guided documentation and video resources were very helpful in solving problems independently. - I enjoyed the hands-on problem-solving while modeling and developing automation flows thanks to the mentorship from my supervisor.

What I wish was different

- Since I worked remotely I had fewer interactions with other interns (aside from a work-related general channel through Microsoft Teams).

Advice

- For future applicants/interns I would advise embracing flexibility since there are a lot of different tasks and projects to work on (which you will explore during onboarding), but also not be overwhelmed and trust the process since the guided work is very resourceful and supervisors are communicative and understanding.

Investment Analyst

May - August 2024 • Wilmette, IL

What I liked

I learned a great deal from my manager Isaac. He taught me a lot about financial modeling, creating investment materials, researching investors, and how to consult and pitch ideas to investors and clients. There was a whole group of interns I got to work with and the program helped me foster great teamworking skills.

What I wish was different

Sometimes communication with peers could be a little difficult as Microsoft teams didn't allow me to share pictures of documents or screenshots which was frustrating, so maybe having a second platform for communication would have been helpful.

Advice

I think this internship is a great first experience for people looking to get into the finance field. This internship helps you learn with other driven interns and helps you understand how to pitch slides to investors, understand what makes a good investment, and other important things that will be key for future roles.
