What I liked

I loved all the work and learning about the parts of the aircraft and how everything fit together. Most of my immediate group fellow employees were cordial.

What I wish was different

I have a disability and needed accommodations so I could do my work. I was not given accommodations even though I indicated I needed them. I had to send many emails and search the company website trying to find a way to get accommodations for my disability so I could do my work. I had indicated before I started work that I have a disability, yet no opportunity was provided me to tell my employer exactly what accommodations needed to be in place so I could start work.

Advice

Large corporations tend to hire and retain the wrong people (see the book "Snakes in Suits" by Industrial Psychologist Paul Babiak). The Human Resources departments are making errors in who they allow in to interview. If you do not have a network connection you are unlikely to get hired in a STEM profession, especially if you are female. In my case, ALL interviewers for every job were male. If you are not in your twenties and gorgeous you're less likely to be hired. Male co-workers have a difficult time allowing a female worker into their "club."

What I liked

The job always has something new occurring, as well as a wide base of customers.

What I wish was different

The location and the equipment could use some help. The location is high traffic which is good, but the store does look like it was put together in 2 months instead of having any decent space to place products in the store.

Advice

Using customer service and sticking with the job is the best way to make everyone's lives (including yours here) better.
