What I liked

Everyone, including my supervisor, was very friendly and down-to-earth, and they appreciated having me there. My supervisor was always willing to help me out. The work environment was cozy and welcoming, and the work was usually varied. I did a lot of problem solving in my projects and also researching solutions. So my mind was constantly stimulated, but never overwhelmed. I always felt like I was well equipped to complete a project. It was nice to have a lot of creative freedom with designing some of the materials, like flyers.

What I wish was different

Clients that want their logo printed on apparel (like a T-shirt) would often send us a low resolution image of their logo. I wish they would instead send in the original logo artwork, or at the very least, send in a high resolution image of the logo and/or the font file that they used. It's time consuming to redraw low resolution artwork in Illustrator, particularly when we can't identify the font they used. I will be helping to create file submission guidelines at some point to hopefully improve this issue.

Advice

Since the work is varied, you need to be able to problem solve and do research when you run into a road block.
