What I liked

I liked the experience for the most part! You're treated like a part of the team, like any other employee. You do the same work as the other people there/relevant tasks towards the work. Also, I got to work with interns in other locations on a project that would potentially be used by Spectrum to improve their operations. Mentors were assigned which helped a lot with training me on how to use systems and the general functions of everything.

What I wish was different

University relations required us to attend workshops, and some of the workshops were not effective. Also, I wish I had more time to actually do the work (there were a bit too many meetings with University Relations stuff for my liking).

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions to your mentor. If you go in enthusiastic, ready to learn, and the ability to adapt, this internship experience will be one to remember.

What I liked

I loved the whole experience. It was my first time working in an office setting 40 hours per week. I had a lot of autonomy in my work and worked on projects that were used by upper-level management.

What I wish was different

I think more mentorship would have been helpful. We were assigned mentors in our department but it would be great to have connected with others in a different department to help us with starting our professional careers.

What I liked

Meaningful work, our assignments were important for the shows we worked on and usually made it on air. Everyone was very nice and helpful. They're not shy about hiring interns, a lot of the workers started as interns.
