SpeakEasy Stage Company is a non-profit theatre company located in the South End of Boston and is led by award-winning Producing Artistic Director Paul Daigneault. As the Pavilion Resident Theater for Boston Center for the Arts, SpeakEasy produces 28 weeks of new plays and musicals each season in the Calderwood Pavilion. Since its founding in 1992, SpeakEasy Stage Company has distinguished itself as Boston’s premiere mid-sized theater, consistently winning acclaim for presenting top-quality productions of vital, cutting-edge plays and musicals with top local talent.
SpeakEasy’s mission focuses on selecting work that compels thoughtful conversation, challenges our audience, and inspires social change. We seek to provide access to our programming from all the diverse communities of Boston through a variety of accessibility initiatives. At SpeakEasy, we nourish emerging artists, train future arts leaders, and work to make Boston a city that is sustainable for artists.
