Bird department intern

May 2022 - August 2022 Mendon, MA
“I loved everything about this internship! I learned so much from incredible mentors, and it gave me great insight into the field. It provided me with a strong foundation in husbandry and training, along with educating zoo visitors. I loved forming bonds with the birds I got to work with, and I loved how many different species and individuals I got to work with. I enjoyed how the workdays had a general schedule with rotating tasks, as it made each day fun! Every one of my supervisors is so kind and intent on making sure every intern learns as much as possible, sets goals, takes initiative, and simply has a good time! I'm honored to have had this experience and I cannot recommend Southwick's Zoo & EARTH Limited more highly! ”
