Supervisors were very friendly and helpful. Both independent time to work on my own projects and joined collaborate efforts on ongoing projects. Team building was encouraged and created an environment that allowed me to feel comfortable to learn and do.
What I wish was different
I wish I had known about the opportunity earlier and that the housing was closer to the job itself.
Advice
Ask questions even they are simple. There is no such thing as a dumb question.

Student Engineer - Kinetics
March 2019 • San Antonio, TX
What I liked
I enjoyed being given a lot of hands-on work because I learn the best by doing hands-on work. I also liked the work environment because it was flexible with my schedule and I liked everyone I worked with.
What I wish was different
There is nothing I wish that had been different.
Advice
You should not expect to be perfect. The only way to fill in the gap between being a beginner and being an expert is to fail and ask questions. If you mess up, it doesn't matter because everyone makes mistakes.

Student Engineer
July 2018 • San Antonio, TX
What I liked
Access to great equipment and large budget for materials. Professional technicians on staff to build designs and solder, freeing time for research and design. Friendly and capable staff engineers are more than willing to help if you ask.
What I wish was different
Projects are confidential so student involvement is very low due to required operational security procedures. Staff engineers in my division are often unable to communicate due to work load.
Advice
Each department in each division operates differently. No two students will have the same experience. Apply to all available jobs in your major and communicate with divisions you might be more interested in once acclimated. Often times they will transfer you.
