The workplace environment is amazing. Everyone is very approachable, helpful and collaborative. Especially considering it is a respected newsroom I am grateful at how welcoming they were. I didn't have journalism experience yet was encouraged to develop a story and helped along the way, and was even published! KPCC is the best work experience I've ever had and has put me on a path for radio production.
What I wish was different
I wish I had done more on the field stories, audio cutting, and recording. My position did not revolve around this and I could have done some in my time there, but didn't.
Advice
Don't be afraid to reach out, ask for help, and be sociable. If you feel like you aren't doing much, ask for what you can help with. Ashley Alvarado is an amazing person and will help you attain whatever it is you seek out of the experience.

Be yourself and don’t compare yourself to others. They hired you for what you are capable of doing so do your best. So don’t try to become what you thing they want you to be, just do you.
