Working with the Forest Society was an excellent experience-- my supervisors, after they asked me what I wanted to get out of this internship, gave me ample freedom to pursue tasks at work that helped me better both my GIS and communications-related skills. It is because of the fact that the Forest Society granted this sense of freedom that this internship was so great.

Advice
After this experience, one piece of advice that I can offer is that communicating with supervisors about what YOU want to get out an internship is extremely important. When you do this, you can be SURE that the experience will be beneficial.
