I really enjoyed the variety of work I was assigned and how it combined GIS and Computer Science. My supervisor Ben was incredibly helpful with tasks and I enjoyed how impactful the work was.

What I wish was different

I wish it could have been a hybrid internship rather than remote.

What I liked

I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with Sniffer! Project specifications and goals were clearly communicated, and the team was always enthusiastic. Sniffer cares about helping you develop skills that will be applicable long into your career, and management is good at providing helpful resources. I would recommend looking into opportunities at Sniffer for anyone interested in the intersection between software development and GIS.

Sniffer is a small company and often roles overlap -- get to know the team and take time to learn about operations beyond your position.

What I liked

The team at Sniffer was really understanding and flexible with my school schedule. They're a small company, so you could tell that they care about your wellbeing and progression. Weekly meetups were great to voice any concerns and to update everyone with your progress. Management was receptive and easy to interact with. Workload balance was just right.
