Communication and social skills and experience. As a cashier, you deal one-on-one with customers. Particularly in times of economic uncertainty retail associates are still needed. A flexible schedule together with outstanding colleagues.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have been given the opportunity to develop as an employee or have new challenges. Being a cashier is a basic work that doesn't take a great deal of expertise and it becomes monotonous at one point.
Advice
The most important advice I could give to any upcoming customer service employee is to be patient and respectful to the clients. Have a positive attitude and treat people with kindness, even though you're having a bad day.

What I liked
Working with others, learning how to make smoothies, the nutritional values/benefits of different ingredients, getting to know the regulars
What I wish was different
I wish that some of the employees worked harder/were more serious about the job
Advice
Try to make friends/be friendly with everyone, even if their likes/dislikes or life experiences are vastly different from your own. You can make friends with people at work that you would never think to talk to otherwise.
