Slalom Consulting

Marketing Intern

May - September 2022 • Denver, CO

What I liked

I loved my Slalom internship. I enjoyed everyone I worked with, the hybrid schedule and the treatment. As an intern, I never felt talked down to or left behind. Slalom made sure to make me feel like a real employee and gave me lots of relevant/helpful tasks to help my professional growth.

What I wish was different

The only thing I wish I had for my marketing internship was to have the ability to communicate with other interns at Slalom. At the time of my internship, there was only one other intern in the office. I wish we had the opportunity to speak with other interns at other offices!

Advice

One piece of advice I have for the Slalom marketing internship would be to always show up as your best self and be kind to everyone. It goes a long way! You never know who you may be speaking with.

Acounts payable intern

May - September 2019 • Seattle, WA

What I liked

I really liked the work environment, I'd never worked in a work setting before so seeing how co-workers interact and work together to build each other and the company up was really interesting to see.

What I wish was different

I wish as an intern that I would have been given harder tasks. I didn't feel challenged as an intern and I really wish I had been taught more in order to walk away with more.

Advice

Go into an internship experience with an open mind and the mindset that you are here to learn so if you get critizism don't take it the wrong way. Nobody is here to embarrass you, they are here to show you what woeking in the real work is like. Mistakes mean money lost so take that advice because it will most likely help you in the future.

Technology Consultant

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

The overall environment was really freeing. The work I was doing didn’t feel like work and the people I had to interact with were more than friendly. Their core values are something I also resonated with.

What I wish was different

Advice

Take the tome to talk to people. Like actually go out of your way to talk to them. The more people know your name or understand who you are/what you can do, the more they’ll think of you when project opportunities come along.

Software Engineering Intern

June - August 2019 • St. Louis, MO

What I liked

I liked the inviting and growth encouraging work environment. All Slalom employees were willing and eager to help and share information. My project was very interesting to work on, I got exposed to Amazon Web Services' facial recognition technology, and was assigned the task of working with a team to connect this technology to a camera so that people could use their face to scan into work.

What I wish was different

Advice

I would share the advice to don't be afraid to work with new technologies, or frameworks that you don't know yet. That is how you learn.

What I wish was different

Working more on the marketing side but they had no positions open for marketing.

Advice

Using your personal network to get a job is a great resource that is overlooked a lot of the time.

Software Quality Engineer Intern

June - August 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

Culture was very welcoming and friendly, work was engaging, they teach you a lot about their specific development cycle, got practice working with a remote team.

What I wish was different

Nothing really. There were some minor issues because the branch I was working at moved to a larger office during the internship, but these were circumstantial.

Advice

Be active about asking for help, everyone was willing to take time away from what they were working on to help us through a problem.
