SKOBEL'S SCHOOL UNIFORMS

Apparel Salesperson

June - August 2019 • Belle Chasse, LA

What I liked

I liked how it was a smaller store to work in, so all the workers learned all aspects of the store. I learned how to work the cashier, how to place orders online, how to contact other stores, how to stock items, how to take inventory, and how to problem solve for individual customers. The small community the store was located at was also appealing and you started to develop relationships with recurring customers.

What I wish was different

I wish that there would have been one more cash register to check customers out at just so the cashiers wouldn't get so backed up.

Advice

I would tell a future employee of Skobel's to not be afraid to ask for help if they are unsure of something. Parents take their kid's uniforms very seriously and it is best to just tell them all the information you know and to seek someone's help if they need more information. Another piece of advice is to always put the customer first. If they don't have what the customer is looking for, try alternative options instead of just sending them to another store.
