I liked working in the city, sourcing information about public relations events, and planning my own mock event.
What I wish was different
I wish I had worked for a bigger company for the office environment and so I would have had more tasks.
Advice
Don’t work for a small company.

PR intern
September - December 2016 • Chicago, IL
What I liked
There was a lot of freedom for interns to develop and execute content for multiple brands.
What I wish was different
A bit more interaction with supervisors. They’re really busy, which is understandable, but a little check in to make sure everything is going smoothly day to day should be more of a priority.
Advice
Take this opportunity to meet with any and everyone you can. You learn so much from fellow interns, other staff that maybe you don’t work with directly and even front desk staff! There are so many people who are genuinely interested in helping you if you really want it ! Don’t forget to save your work and ask if you can use some of it (without confidential info of course) for your portfolio, no matter what field you’re in.
