I enjoyed the hands-on experience I encountered at the Sandy Hollow, as well as the friendly work environment. I also enjoyed being able to experience what it is like to work at a county park and the experience i have gained from working there for the past two summers.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have had more experience with the park ranger side of the job, since that is what I am planning on pursuing after I graduate college.
Advice
Be prepared to work outside almost every day, since this is a hands-on job experience.

What I liked
Very fun opportunity getting to work with kids and parents to teach them about the environment. Giving them hands on learning and opportunities to practice things that they likely would not get to do regularly. Even learned a few things myself.

Advice
Be willing to learn on the go. There is not a lot of training before hand, instead you get thrown right in and learn all the different tasks throughout the summer. It probably is the best way to learn the job anyway, due to how variable everything is.
