Advice

Learn Ruby on Rails before going in. I knew I would be using it and studied up on the framework before starting, and it helped tremendously. It would have been a lot more difficult if I had to figure out how to use Rails on the job.

What I liked

SimpleNexus has an amazing culture and a lot of really great developers. I learned a lot from talking to other members of my team, and people were always willing to help. I felt like a full-time employee given my responsibilities, and I never thought I was treated less by being an intern.

What I wish was different

Advice

I learned quickly how important it was to ask questions. It helped reduce the learning curve allowing me to be productive early on.
