I loved the cooperative atmosphere and the people. It is very easy and fun to learn from people who are genuinely excited to be at their job.
What I wish was different
I wish that the program were more refined as far as training goes. There was a generic training session for Silverdollar city attractions workers but there was nothing for a publicity or a marketing intern. A lot of the information that we went over during the training session was not applicable to my job and was not information that I needed in order to complete my job effectively. I just wish that there would’ve been more refined training within my department.
Advice
I’ve learned the double and triple checking your work is the best thing that you can do. Something as easy as typing a one instead of a two can completely change the entire meaning of a press release or can seriously impact someone’s ability to cash in a voucher and attend the park. Always being careful and double and triple checking your work is a big part of being successful at this job.

What I liked
I really loved the friendly atmosphere of Silver Dollar City. I also liked growing in confidence as a Cave Guide and interacting with both guests and fellow coworkers throughout the day.
