I enjoyed collaborating with a team of dedicated individuals, all of whom were more than willing to provide me with feedback, counsel, and openness as I completed my project. The mission of the organization to enhance the energy future of Silicon Valley really resonated with me, and it was super fascinating to learn about how the energy sector works with all of its different actors and stakeholders.
What I wish was different
It would have been nice if my project had been more interrelated with the work of the various teams within SVCE; my project (modeling 24x7 clean energy portfolios) was fairly insulated from the actual work of the organization.
Advice
Grow your network! It is really important to have personal connections to people in fields that interest you so they can help you out down the line. I made invaluable connections at SVCE which will surely provide a mutually beneficial relationship later down the line.
