A piece of advice I'd share with future pack interns is to be genuinely engaged in the content you are teaching. If you're excited about it the kids will be too.

What I liked
The hands on work with young kids outside in nature. There was also a fairly flexible schedule and in depth lesson plans. They also let me go at my own pace for what I was comfortable doing.
What I wish was different
I wish our schedules could have matched better.

What I liked
Sierra Nevada Journeys hires a diverse group of people and I loved working with such a diverse group.
What I wish was different
There were times I wish the camper schedule was different, but it worked well most of the time.
Advice
All in-coming counselors should know to have fun, be goofy, and don’t be after to be silly for the campers. This job is all about making the best week for campers!
