Sheppard Pratt

Mental Health Worker

February 2022 • Towson, MD

What I liked

I enjoyed the teamwork aspect of the workspace. This was very helpful to contribute to a therapeutic environment.

What I wish was different

Some of the rules put in place could be more supportive of staff.

Advice

The best advice I can give it to never have your back to anyone while you’re working on units. Also, this is the type of field you have to find a real passion to work with people and not take experiences to heart.

Residential Counselor

April - October 2021 • Lutherville-Timonium, MD

What I liked

I liked that I was given a chance to help my patients in their every day life as far as what activities they did, taking their medication on time, and helping them adapt to the community that they lived in.

What I wish was different

I wish that the company had more staff so that the clients can have consistent counselors and be able to build meaningful relationships with their counselors.

Mental Health Worker

May 2019 • Towson, MD

What I liked

Really pretty much everything honestly. This job continues to challenge me everyday as there's so much to learn about severe PTSD and DID! The training was thorough and great and I love my coworkers as well. It's so incredible and fulfilling to work in the field my degree is in, and I could honestly see myself working there for years to come!
