What I wish was different
I wish it was paid and had open job positions. They only had one support guy for the whole school. They used the interns as extra help to get the school ready a few weeks before classes started.
Advice
It wasn’t as serious as some other internships may be. Don’t stress about getting the job, there are plenty other options.

What I liked
This was for a six week summer program run by 21st Century. I liked that we had the same classroom of kids every day and was able to get to know them well. We had lesson plans but were able to freestyle some of our activities. We went to the zoo as a final field trip.
What I wish was different
That the hours were not so long. It was 8:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday, which made for a long day for us and the kids.
Advice
Be flexible but take control of the classroom as if it was your own. Otherwise the kids will run all over you and no one will have fun let alone learn anything.
