I love being a seminary student teacher! My favorite part is working with and teaching young people every day. They always keep me on my toes and make me laugh.
What I wish was different
Something that's been tricky about this job is not taking things personally. If the students aren't participating in a lesson the way you hoped, it's easy to get down on yourself.
Advice
Don't be afraid to mix things up! Try something new with a lesson, ask interesting questions, share stories, and ask them about their lives. Student teaching is a great time to figure out what does and doesn't work for your teaching style before potentially getting hired fulltime.
