Reading Tutor

What I liked
I liked working with elementary school children because that is something I am passionate about. It was nice to put my writing skills into use and to be able to help someone else out.
What I wish was different
What I wish would have been different is that I had more students, or the sessions were more frequent. But, it really was not needed.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share is to make sure the person you are tutoring is having fun, otherwise progress is a lot harder to make.

The circumstances, I wish I had more resources like books and internet during the time I was helping them.
Advice
Tutoring is a learning experience for the tutor also and it not only requires time but patience and the passion for it. If you have knowledge it’s a blessing to share it.

Construction Laborer

What I liked
I enjoy construction work and i got experience tearing up floor foundation and installing new floor, as well as brick laying, painting, cabinet install and sheet rocking.
What I wish was different
i worked one on one with my boss the whole summer and he tore his meniscus and had to get surgery, leaving only me to do the work the second half of the summer.
Advice
if you enjoy construction i highly recommend getting this type of experience. it’s hard work but it pays well and feels rewarding.
