Select Physical Therapy

Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant

June - August 2020 • Colorado Springs, CO

What I liked

I enjoyed the variety of patients, opportunities and outcomes that I received. I was able to perform aquatic therapy, along with learning an advanced level and abundance of therapeutic techniques from aquatic to vestibular to musculoskeletal. I have never lived away from my hometown, and it was absolutely awestriking to see what is out there! I learned so much about myself regarding strengths and weaknesses and also what really interests me.

What I wish was different

I wish that I was given more time to explore different techniques with patients and also more time to explore Colorado Springs! I had to move shortly after my internship to start college.

Advice

Get out there and explore. Even if it is for a couple months or a /ear, go out and experience life for yourself. You will never imagine how much you learn about yourself until you explore.

Physical Therapy Aide

August 2017 - September 2018 • Glendora, CA

What I liked

The physical therapists were always happy to answer any questions that I had about the therapy they provided for patients. The staff worked as a team to provide efficient care. Select Physical Therapy was a great environment to learn in.

What I wish was different

I wish aides had more time to observe the duration of the treatment provided by the physical therapists. Since each day's schedule is booked every thirty minutes and occasionally double booked, an aide must tend to several patients at one time in order to keep the physical therapist's schedule moving.

Advice

Fight for your opportunities to learn. It can be easy to go through the motions and go through the routine of the job without putting much thought into it. When you seek for questions to ask and for opportunities to learn, it becomes a more rewarding experience.

Advice

If you don’t think you are qualified for a job, apply anyway. The worst that can happen is you don’t hear back from them but if you do, you might get the job.
