Desktop Rollout Intern

June - August 2019 • Oaks, PA

What I liked

Big campus, open work environment (no cubicles), people are very caring and helpful, food is amazing, and overall fantastic experience.

What I wish was different

The commute. I drive 2 hours round trip everyday. Roughly 50 combined miles daily.

Advice

Take advantage of your time at an internship or job. If you’re selected for the position, do your best. Always ask questions and learn as much as you can. Your experience matters more than anything in the real world. Don’t sit or stand around when you don’t have work. Ask for more work. Ask if you can contribute to anything. Also, have fun!

Investment management services (IMS)

June - August 2018 • Oaks, PA

What I liked

Awesome company with a lot of room to build yourself professionally. Presenting to the company gave me a lot of good experience and got me exposed to being nervous and overcoming it.

What I wish was different

No complaints, but do wish I had more exposure to the marketing department.

Advice

Definitely go out of your comfort zone and get involved somewhere. In terms of an internship if it is not what you like it is good to know that in terms of getting a real job in the future.

Sales Intern

June - August 2018 • Oaks, PA

Culture, people, role

What I wish was different

I wish I had assessed my short-comings as a presenter and made corrections earlier in the program so that I would have had a better chance of landing the full-time job.

Advice

Don't be afraid of pushing outside of your comfort zone -- the only way to grow comfortable with something that you're uncomfortable with is to exposure yourself to it. You never know what you may or may not like in your career path. Be open to any opportunity, you might find that you like numerous things and have a very wide array of career interests.
