Manufacturing Intern
May - October 2020 • Clintonville, WI
What I liked
My immediate supervisor was extremely helpful in teaching us how to navigate the daily operations of the company.
What I wish was different
I had been told I would be working in research and development, but spent a majority of my time updating SOP's and finishing process improvement projects left uncompleted by the full time staff.
Advice
Ask very direct questions about the duties and responsibilities for your position. I would also recommend that you talk directly with who your supervisor will be prior to accepting an offer.

I liked how hands on my job was and I wasn't stuck doing the same thing everyday.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have been part of a bigger project but I was only there for the summer so I understand why I wasn't put on a huge project.

Manufacturing Engineering Intern
June - August 2019 • Clintonville, WI
What I liked
I was given a lot of freedom as to what projects I got to work on. I worked closely with all of the supervisors and got to make a lot of new relationships with coworkers. It was a vey team-oriented atmosphere and collaborative thinking was used to solve problems. This role provided me with real world experience for the material I have been learning in my classes and has shown me many useful ways to put the knowledge I have gained from classes into something real.

Advice
Don't be afraid to try something you don't know anything about. When working at an internship or co-op, never be afraid to talk to your supervisor/manager about doing something different if you don't like what you are doing.
