Lifeguard

What I liked

Picking up shifts was always an option, there was always a need for more lifeguards on duty. I had a lot of coworkers who came from different places and were there for different reasons, so that was interesting. Overall, it taught me how to be more vigilant about my surroundings and more patient and understanding towards others.

What I wish was different

I wish the hours hadn't been so long and the pay so low.

Advice

Be mentally and physically prepared to be in the heat for long periods of time, and stay really hydrated.
