What I liked

The company I worked for was really small, so I got to wear lots of different hats and had a ton of responsibilities within my role. I loved learning about a new industry and applying everything I'd learned in the junior core to a real position. I also loved Austin and the friends that I made there! It was a great overall experience.

What I wish was different

I thought startup culture was for me, but after this summer, I don't think it is (I'm glad I figured it out during an internship!). Fewer employees mean the businesses is hands-on 24-7 and lots of effort goes towards putting out fires. I build SaveDay's digital strategy from the ground up, but in the future, I want to work for an already established, high-growth company where I can work to improve the processes that are in place.

Advice

Don't be intimidated by people with higher titles than you! It's all about how much work you put in. If you want to learn and work hard to constantly improve, you will be successful. Speak up, ask questions, and be confident in your abilities.
