• Researched equity and fixed income asset classes using Morningstar and BlackRock software for client investment portfolios.
• Constructed and completed Redtail workflows for post-meeting checklists, monthly newsletters, and onboarding clients.
• Designed a Data Attestation form that disclosed the privacy policies of the firm’s various software and data security programs.
• Conducted research on RIA pricing models such as retainer, AUM, and net worth to potentially implement into the firm.
What I wish was different
It was the perfect learning experience! No complaints!

Financial Advisor Intern

What I liked
I really enjoyed the hands on experience that came with working in a small business environment. In addition, I was able to take on a wide range of projects and improve skills I would not have ordinarily have used in a traditional internship
What I wish was different
I wish there could have been more of experience with the clients and been able to sit in on a few meetings over the course of the internship. Also the really long days working 9+ hours every day seemed to warrant some sort of compensation.
Advice
This internship is great for a Business of Economics major who is looking to get their feet wet in finance and more specifically in financial advising. Prepare for long days and perhaps consider another paying job as there is no compensation for your work here.
