I loved getting to work with a group of my peers and talking with them everyday, and that my day was totally done by 5:30. I got to learn a lot about how the school operates, and I gained a new skill.

I wish I’d gotten to do more speciality projects.
Advice
It’s hard work but a lot of fun with the right group of people, and stay for overtime every chance you get.

Senior Interviewer
July 2019 • Bronxville, NY
What I liked
I like being able to live on campus for discounted housing, working closely with other students and the admissions counselors, and being able to save money for the future.
What I wish was different
I wish the summer accommodations (Hill House) had been air conditioned.
Advice
I think working on-campus over the summer is a really great way for students to make money that they can put towards future opportunities (such as studying abroad). It’s also fun to stay on-campus with other students, especially if you live farther away and long stays home can feel isolating.

Office Assistant
May - September 2019 • Bronxville, NY
What I liked
I liked working in the Events office because I interacted with a lot of different offices on campus as well as outside groups. I also gained a lot of experience in the event planning industry. I learned a lot about both secretarial work, as well as graphic design and office skills.
What I wish was different
Sometimes I was bored in the office and then would be hit with many different projects to work on. It would have been nice to have a few long term projects to work on when work was slower.
Advice
Bring passion and new ideas! If you propose a project it will keep you occupied and also make you more useful to the running of the office.
