Engineering Intern I

October 2016 • Huntsville, AL

What I liked

I enjoyed working with Microsoft Visio and Excel to complete different types of schematics. It provided a strong insight into the mechanical and electrical knowledge needed for each.

What I wish was different

I'd like to work with another software like CAD from time to time or maybe have a little more hands on activities, but I am extremely happy with the work I did and will continue doing!

Advice

Don't be afraid to make mistakes early on, and always ask for advice from the more experienced people you work with. Working hard, showing you can handle tasks on your own, and having good relationships with your coworkers is probably the best thing I could recommend.

Nasa Intern

June 2019 • Huntsville, AL

What I liked

I love the work environment and the people are very nice and easy to work with. Very flexible schedule and the work load fluctuates. You are also able to rotate between teams.

What I wish was different

I wish that Government work wasn't very slow. I wish that the process for setting up internships were faster. Besides the process being slow, my location was cold due to a lot of devices on the site. So you have to prepare for that.

Advice

If you want to work at Marshall Space and Flight Center learn a variety of skills. Administrative, Programming, Customer service, Office skills, and etc.

What I wish was different

Nothing

Advice

I appreciated every moment and took advantage of every opportunity and have rose to the position I am currently at. You should never look at a position as "It's just an intern", "It's just a summer job", "It's just a temporary position"; because you never know what it can evolve to.

During my internship, I learned basic programming techniques using C++. I learned the significance of running unit tests on code in order to figure out if it runs properly.
