Job Recruiter

May - September 2019 • Sparks, NV

What I liked

I loved getting to apply what I learn in my management classes into the real world. I also really enjoyed interviewing applicants and getting them hired. It felt really nice to walk into the store and seeing people working who I hired myself.

What I wish was different

Advice

The way I received this opportunity was by taking a shot by asking if they were looking for a recruiter. I was just a cashier for Safeway at the time, and they noticed my hard work and were open to let me on their recruiting team. My advice, because of this, would be to take shots when you see them and take risks because you never know where they can take you.

Check Out Cashier

June - August 2018 • Snohomish, WA

What I liked

I enjoyed getting to experience lots of different types of people, with different stories and personalities.

What I wish was different

The nature of the job meant that, while I was interacting with lots of people all the time, almost none of the interactions felt very meaningful. I sometimes wished I had a less demanding job that allowed me to be more personal.

Advice

Being a cashier is perhaps more glamorous than other jobs connected to grocery stores, but it is still definitely not for the faint of heart.
