The ability to learn new things, work in a professional environment, flexibility with scheduling, documenting loans, correcting procedures, a chance to network, meeting the CEO, being apart of a department.
What I wish was different
I wish that COVID had not restricted the world this year, I know I would have got to experience a lot more activities/learnings/etc had it not been for COVID. Until COVID, there was not much I would change.
Advice
Always be willing to try new things, and to go after the things you want. By trying new things and not shying away, I was able to learn a lot more and I really value my job.

Retail Banking Intern

What I liked
I got hand on experience with customers and created great customer relationships. I was also able to shadow the managers, personal bankers, and loan officers.
What I wish was different
I wish I found an internship more towards what I want to do after graduation, instead of just accepting one when I was offered it.
Advice
Do not take the first one you're offered. Search for something that truly interests you.

What I liked
I made great relationships with fellow employees, there were open lines of communication from top to bottom, I had excellent advisors, and I received a very substantial workload for an intern.
What I wish was different
Nothing comes to mind.
Advice
Research and apply early. I was able to secure this internship back in the winter, and it was the position that I had my sights set on. Do not wait to find an internship or you will settle for an unwanted or a non-enjoyable position.

What I liked
I enjoyed the people that I worked with since they really helped to explain what needed to be done as well as give me my own tasks to complete. I also liked that I was able to relate all of the laws and regulations to the actual work force.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have taken an excel classs before doing the internship.
Advice
Learn that every task that the Company wants you to do is important.
