S.R. Snodgrass, P.C.

External Audit Intern

May - August 2018 • King of Prussia, PA

What I liked

Internship offered: - First year staff experience - Exposure to several parts of an audit and type of audit visits (planning, interim, reporting etc.) - Extensive work - 40 hours a week; Paid overtime and expenses - Travel and out of town stays - Rotation between internal and external audit - Helpful, patient, friendly and informative co workers

What I wish was different

N/A; Highly recommend this internship to acquire extensive experience in auditing.

Advice

Interns are treated as a first year staff member. Expect to have to work hard but understand that your in-charge and co workers do not expect you to know much. Ask a ton of questions, be proactive and try to soak up as much information as you can to learn.

Auditing Intern

June 2018 • King of Prussia, PA

What I liked

The people at SR Snodgrass was the most liked thing about my experience. I loved going to work every day. I made friends with the people as well as they always helped me learn as much as I could every single day. They also made sure I had a complete experience of what it would look like to work for them. I was never ever called an intern. These are just a few of the things I loved about the company and why I look forward to working there full time when I graduate.

What I wish was different

I wish I had a longer time at the company, as well as I wish there was a little less travel. However, this wasn't anything the company could control and was part of the job description. I really had nothing negative to say about the firm.

Advice

Even though you might just be an intern, do not take it like an intern position. Treat it like a real job and you're working for a raise. This is one thing that led me to receive a full time offer for when I graduate. Also, just because people at Snodgrass are friendly and will become your friends, make sure you still keep a professional line somewhere.
