I loved getting to see how everything worked from an office standpoint and really getting to learn what the organization was about and how they help others. I also really enjoyed getting to meet the families that stayed at the House and getting to hear their stories of how RMHC has impacted their lives!
What I wish was different
I wish I would have had more time during the week so I could've really dove into the work and learned more, like how they go about planning events/fundraisers!
Advice
I think I would tell others to really go out of their comfort zone when looking for an internship, I wasn't even really sure if I wanted to work in a non-profit sector but I really enjoyed every minute of it. Also take the time to get to know the other people that work there (not just your supervisors), along with the volunteers. It is a great networking opportunity because of how large of an organization it is! It is also a great place to stay on and just volunteer at once your internship is over! You will fall in love with it!
