I liked how I was able to make my own hours so this opportunity fit into my schedule. I also like working with the athletic coaches at Roberts. I was open to learning and doing anything that was thrown at me.

Advice
This is a great opportunity to explore what a Division 2 athletics head coach does outside of practice.

What I liked
I love how communicative my boss is. She always knows how to let me know what she needs me to do, whether it is through an email, text, or phone call.
What I wish was different
I wish that we double-checked with each other on making sure that grammar and punctuation are correct on flyers, posters, and important emails that are about to be sent out before sending them out/processing them.
Advice
Reach out to your co-workers if you don't understand how to complete the tasks assigned to you!

Advice
It was a really good experience all together. It really showed me how to keep cool under pressure during the interviewing process. I was interviewed by 6 people at once. So, my advice would be just to take a deep breath and just simply answer the questions. If you're right for the position you don't have to create an answer to make you sound better. Just answer what you would actually do or think. Don't make stuff up in an interview, sooner or later they'll find out the truth.

Dorm cleaning
May - August 2019 • Rochester, NY
What I liked
My boss Ruby Everson, she was so sweet and understanding of how hard it is to lean disgusting dorm rooms in the summer heat. We cleaned a lot of dorms in a small amount of time but she made it enjoyable.
What I wish was different
That they would have given us more time to finish and do a better job at cleaning the dorms. Some dorms we couldn't do the best we could because we were rushed so much.
Advice
Dorm cleaning is a humbling experience and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good job over the summer. The cleaning crew is one that you will grow to know and love and will have a fun time cleaning with.

Student Worker
May 2017 • Rochester, NY
What I liked
My coworkers were the best part of my job. They made each day enjoyable. They were all unique and funny in their own way.
What I wish was different
The way that the students treated their living space was hard to deal with. It appeared that they didn't even care when they made messes; ignoring the fact that someone was going to have to clean up after them.
Advice
Make sure that whatever your job is, you like the people you have to work with. Even if you only befriend one or two people, it makes a huge difference. No one wants to work for long hours with people they can't stand or who can't stand them.
