Project Intern

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I liked the ability to work at my own pace. I worked directly for the Managing Partners of the firm, which added to the experience. They gave me a workload of projects to accomplish, with basically no time retrains. They trusted in my ability to get the work done and treated the internship as a learning experience. I was allowed to ask as many or as few questions as I chose. The flexibility and individually structured nature of the internship allowed me to grow and learn in many ways.

What I wish was different

All else equal, it would have been nice to get a higher pay; living in New York is expensive. I began a second job on the weekends to support myself. The second job allowed me to gain valuable connections outside of the company but had the internship paid more, I could have given it my full attention.

Advice

Always work your hardest, regardless of the parameters. This internship was very open-ended, with no time constraints or exact details of the expectations. Every project I was given, I worked my hardest on and I always made the partners happy.
