What I liked

I am able to experience all aspects of a full service public accounting firm- tax, audit, and bookkeeping/payroll. It's a small firm, so I have been able to work with everyone in a one-on-one basis.

What I wish was different

I did some more administrative duties than I would have wanted; however, those experiences taught me a lot about how the firm operates as a whole.

Advice

Look for an internship early. If you don't know if you want to do tax or audit or any of the other fields you can go into with accounting, then don't choose yet. An internship is a great way to get hands on experience to help you decide. Or, if you are like me, find a firm that allows you to work in every department.
