I liked the diversity and communication between organizations and the cleanliness of everything, it felt like being apart of a well oiled machine
What I wish was different
nothing
Advice
I'd advise not being scared with internships and trying to make a difference, I got intimidated by all the changes and didn't really communicate well

product development intern
May - August 2019 • Buffalo, NY
What I liked
They were very welcoming of me and trusted me to do tasks on my own.
What I wish was different
Sometimes I did not have enough work to do in a day, but since it was only a summer internship they couldn't really give me projects of my own because 10 weeks isn't long enough to complete a project. So, my co-op at this company was definitely more beneficial because it was for a longer term and I had projects of my own but it was nice to return for the summer and have people give me tasks.
Advice
Work as hard as you can and complete everything to the best of your ability no matter what the task it. Your work reflects on you.

Transportation Intern
April 2018 • Buffalo, NY
What I liked
The exposure to different parts of the business and the trust that is earned from those you work with to handle tasks that may be outside of your original purpose.
What I wish was different
I do wish that there were more full-time opportunities within the logistics department at the company.
Advice
Do not be afraid to ask questions, try to be involved in projects that you want to learn more about around the supporting areas you are interested in and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Additionally, find someone within your company to network with and rely on as a mentor.

Engineering Intern
May - August 2019 • Buffalo, NY
What I liked
Lots of other interns to interact with, great facilities, lots of benefits
What I wish was different
The work seemed not important, a lot of independent work and working by yourself so the day is boring. I wish I could have worked on projects with more different people.
Advice
Definitely do sensory taste testing, and talk to everyone in the office and make friends.

Marketing Intern on the New Products Accelerator Team
May - August 2018 • Buffalo, NY
What I liked
I enjoyed working first hand with the New Products Accelerator Team, aiding them in identifying and incubating profitable, scalable business ventures that are outside of the core of Rich's business. I was able to sit in on and participate in team meetings where my opinion and input was valued by all of my team members. I especially enjoyed the project that I spearheaded, looking further into using earth-friendly food powders as ingredients in Rich's offerings. The company also offered an extensive internship enrichment series where we got the opportunity to meet all of the top executives and network with each other. Overall, my experience with Rich Products was a fun, food-filled opportunity.
What I wish was different
After finishing my internship experience I had wished that I would have been given my internship assignment sooner so that I could oversee the full product launch through to the end, because as of right now I am not sure whether or not the team has moved any farther forward with the project.
Advice
I would advise anyone starting in an entrepreneurial internship position like this one to be open-minded and ready to do different things everyday. It is important to continue to be adaptable and also to be able to know what tasks you can use to fill your downtime when a project is at a pause (such as reaching out to other associates to network).

Automation Engineer Co-Op
May 2018 • Buffalo, NY
What I liked
The people I work with are amazing. They are friendly, helpful and intelligent. I was thrown at 4 projects while I was there getting experience in things I’ve never touched before. As an engineer i got expereince with business and technical work which was enthralling! I also was able to be apart of sensory testing which let me be a taste tester for new products!
What I wish was different
When I first got there getting better definitions to my tasks would have been helpful. Things in my projects would come up later as a , “did you do this” for paperwork when I never even knew it existed prior.
Advice
If you can get this position take it. Listen and learn and be a go-getter always looking for more opportunities.
