Please also read my interview review, as I cite specific examples of RUI's lack of professionalism.
Absolutely nothing, prospective interns should be aware that this company will actively deceive you about opportunities, leading you to make necessary preparations only to rescind the offer at the last minute. I've experienced their manipulative behavior firsthand, and it will waste your time and energy. Save yourself the frustration and seek opportunities elsewhere with actually honest employers.
What I wish was different
I understand not being selected, but the unprofessional and misleading treatment I received was unacceptable. Dealing with the hiring team has been extremely challenging. On three separate occasions, I was informed that I was either accepted or highly likely to be accepted. Each time, the team either failed to follow up or completely changed their offer.
This behavior is highly unprofessional and indicative of a severe lack of organization and integrity within the company. I strongly advise against engaging with this company if you are looking for an honest employer.
Advice
My experience with this company has been frustrating and deeply disappointing. Despite being repeatedly told that I was a top candidate, I was consistently denied advancement to the next interview stage. On one occasion, I was informed via text message that I had been accepted due to two additional open spots. However, this offer was rescinded the very next day.
After rescinding the offer, they gave me feedback then made another offer, assuring me that I would secure an interview within a day. However, even as the intended start date of the internship has come and gone, I have not received any further communication from them.
This company has demonstrated a severe lack of professionalism and reliability. Their actions reveal a pattern of dishonesty and inconsistency. I cannot recommend them to anyone seeking a transparent and trustworthy employer.

What I liked
The residents and employees are friendly and have become like family to me. The hours are flexible, but I loved the job so much I wanted to be there as much as possible!
What I wish was different
I wish there was better communication between the different departments within the facility, but all jobs have issues. No place is perfect and it was not a deal-breaking thing for me.
Advice
Be willing to step out of your comfort zone. I think Retirement Unlimited does a great job of subverting the sad and depressing retirement home stereotype. The events and activities are super fun and I can't wait to go back to work when I'm home from college.
