I love the individuals i swerve and being able to help them advance their skills at home. They are the reason I love going to work. Being able to take them on outings and see the joy that spreads across their face is the most rewarding thing I have experienced
What I wish was different
I wish that they could do more than just sit in the house all day. I also wish I had more control over what we do that day.
Advice
That serving this individuals is a privilege and it should be viewed that way. That these people don't always have anyone else to care for them except for staff so being active and available to them is key.
