The experience and ability to network. I was able to learn about different departments within Biotech as well as interact with people who worked in these departments and helped explain what they did in their positions. This was broadened my view in the different direction I could go into within Biotech and research.

What I liked

Everyone at Relypsa, especially my manager and his team, were very welcoming and friendly. I felt like the work I was doing was meaningful from both a company-wide perspective and a personal growth perspective.

What I wish was different

Some days, mainly on the days my manager was especially busy or out of town, I had a lot of downtime and didn't feel like I was being helpful. I think if I'd had another project to work on more independently I could've better utilized that time.

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask for advice! Many professionals around you have similar educational backgrounds and may give insights into potential future career paths for you.
