What I liked

I got a lot of exposure to construction management in relation to the real estate field - something I hadn't even given much thought to before.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more time at the company. I split my time between New York and Boston which gave me a lot of exposure but in a very tight, condensed time period.

Advice

Ask questions, attend speaker series, and network as much as possible. The best thing about an internship is finding out about the employees, what they do, and if you can see yourself on their team in the near future.

What I liked

Related's Internship program is a great opportunity to learn more about Real Estate. The internship programming includes panels with C-Suite Executives, portfolio tours, volunteering, resume workshops, and networking opportunities. The fast paced culture and relatively horizontal leadership at Related meant that even as interns we could propose projects of interest and execute them within the span of a few weeks, which gave me a sense of accomplishment at the end of the internship.

What I wish was different

Some areas for improvement included the lack employee resource groups, low employee engagement, and insufficient efforts at corporate social responsibility.

What I liked

Great mix of working within a team and working within the internship program. Executive speaker series exposes you to all the different functions of the company and you get to meet lots of important executives.
