What I liked

-Very hands on and high variety in work due to startup environment -Great firm leadership under Sergio Marrero, able to work very closely with the founder as an intern -Able to work alongside smart and driven undergraduate interns and MBA associates -Able to gain experience not just with sourcing and modeling but also understanding the fundraising and legal aspect of starting a VC fund

What I wish was different

-Compensation as a summer intern is on the lower end due to limited resources but was able to make it work with a second job

Advice

-Be ready to hit the ground running and pivot between tasks based on the Managing Partner’s needs -You will learn a lot but only if you’re willing to put in the work and ask for more. Sergio is an amazing mentor. I would not be where I am if he had not taken a chance on me as a first-year.

What I liked

I loved the culture of the company and the people I worked with. Furthermore, the environment is extremely fast paced and the work you do is extremely exciting. All around I had a wonderful internship and learned a lot!
