With clients primarily in the country's second major media market of Los Angeles, READY FOR MEDIA is a media strategy and communications coaching firm that trains spokespeople, corporate executives, celebrities, professional athletes, authors and others to be Ready for a wide range of media, social media and speaking opportunities. From broadcast news to print interviews, webcasts to podcasts, and press conferences to talk shows; READY FOR MEDIA advocates a clear, concise, and confident delivery of every clients’ messages. Working in such an environment guarantees improvement not only in a student’s verbal and written communication skills but also in business etiquette, marketing strategy, public relations and perhaps most importantly in learning how to efficiently and effectively use the internet to a company’s advantage.

Internship responsibilities: Interns will have an opportunity to advance in their areas of specialty.
The following are also activities in which the intern will participate:
1) Media Relations strategy, practice and production
2) Client Relations, including writing proposals, taking notes during client coaching sessions,
preparing and serving refreshments and assisting
3) Marketing and soliciting new clients
4) Diligent up-keep of READY FOR MEDIA’s Red-Faced or Ready? Blog as well as company pages on
such social networking sites as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter
5) Office duties such as special promotional mailings, updating mailing lists, opening and distributing mail,
running errands and keeping supplies current.
Internship hours: 12-16 hours per week, preferably T/Th in Santa Barbara
Compensation: Academic Credit, Letter of Recommendation and Career Referrals to clients. This is a for credit/unpaid internship for two consecutive semesters/quarters at which time interns are encouraged to replace themselves with other qualified candidates.
