Fixed Income Researcher
July - August 2018 • Memphis, TN
What I liked
I enjoyed getting to know and understand the various workings of Fixed Income work while operating within a larger corporation. I also enjoyed working with the Bloomberg Terminal that Raymond James gave to its interns for the summer. I learned quite a bit about the state of both governmental and corporate finances as well as macroeconomic results and trajectories. Furthermore, I learned about what moves markets generally and specifically.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been more long term projects. There were plenty of one day or two day projects but the internship lacked an overall point even though the learning was great.
Advice
Find something to do, be in the room, if only just to be there.
