What I liked

I really enjoyed getting to work in a variety of different areas. I worked on a number of different special projects, including social media, music library archives and digitization, stage management, audio/video recording and production, and event planning. This allowed me to explore different areas and find what I truly enjoy doing.

What I wish was different

Nothing, it was a really positive experience!

Advice

Be open to stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying new things.

What I liked

I enjoyed the hands on nature of the internship. This role is essential to the running of the festival. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in arts administration

What I liked

I like the in depth hands-on experience I get from behind the scenes of concert production. As a production intern, you really are the star of the show and it doesn't run without you (you'll certainly feel that for the duration of your 4 months there).

What I wish was different

Everything including expectations are laid on the table in the very beginning however be prepared for your random FT scheduling. Very few days will be short but they'll mostly be extremely long throughout your entire summer. If you have additional commitments during the summer or trips then it's not for you yet.

Advice

Be ready to work hard and take pride in everything you do- trust me it's worth it.

What I liked

I liked the friendly work environment and up-beat nature of their work. I learned a lot about non-profits and what goes into an organization like Ravinia. My professional skill set has definitely improved after my months with them... And free concerts are always nice :)
