Rainbows for All Children, headquartered just outside of Chicago in Evanston, is an international, non-profit organization that has been in operation since 1983. We train volunteers in school, faith-based organizations, and community centers to lead peer support groups for children, 3-18, who are grieving the loss of a loved one as a result of death, separation/divorce, incarceration, military deployment, deportation, chronic illness, or any other life-altering, traumatic event. Weekly support groups are held nationwide, open to any child, and there is no fee to attend. The evidence-based program has shown improvements in communication, reducing anxiety/depression, coping skills, anger management, school performance and attendance, and lessening destructive behaviors.
