What I liked

Fantastic positive work environment and culture, doing all the right things by their community, their employees, and the local environment.

What I wish was different

Would have liked to have more opportunity to gain experience on the CNC machinery, and to have more opportunities to engage in creative design processes.

Advice

Collaboration and communication are key. The prototype shop is a high-demand area with a lot of projects going through, so learning to prioritize and time management are some of the most important skills to apply. Communicate back with the engineers and requestors who have brought projects as well, most people are very understanding and flexible about the need to prioritize, and they will work with you to maximize everyone's success. Chicago is an amazing city, definitely get out and explore the local area. Check out the Swing and Blues dance scenes, awesome people there.
