The hands on training, being there in-person. Learning more about the engineering behind all types of machining and additive manufacturing. Exposure to a wide variety of stock material, and learning how they all interact and the different properties of the materials.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to spend more time learning from my coworkers and lead. Covid put our office into a telework rotation so I was the only person who was always in office, even though I knew the least.
Advice
Be ready to learn very quickly, I went from being the new guy to training others and answering production floor questions within two months.
